Every year, over the third weekend of September, the European Heritage Days take place across Europe. On September 15 and 16th, the 50 member states of the European Cultural Convention get the chance to open the doors of their historical monuments to the public. And we’re not just talking about architectural and religious landmarks, but also parks and gardens, archeological sites, military sites…the list goes on!
The Heritage Days are organized regionally according to a specific theme. This year in France, “les Patrimoines cachés”, or “hidden treasures”, is the central focus. A fitting year to open the Grands Moulins de Pantin, an enormous former mill located on the Paris city limits, for guided visits and a photo exhibition. The mills have since been converted into BNP Paribas offices, but they are rich in history…an extraordinary example of industrial heritage, for you to discover on Saturday, September 15th, from 10am to 5pm at 9 rue du Débarcadère.
