We held our ninth annual Sport, Health and Environment Day on 5 July at BGL BNP Paribas. The event was organised in collaboration with the bank’s Staff Committee and its sports and recreation association (Cercle Amical et Sportif), and was attended by Luxembourg Health Minister Mars di Bartolomeo.
Open to all of the Group’s employees in Luxembourg, this Day is an opportunity for the various sections of the sports and recreation association to present their activities to co-workers. The aim is to promote sport and health and encourage environmental protection. The theme for this year’s event, “Healthy and Responsible Cooking”, was chosen to raise awareness of the close links between eating habits, health and the environment.
Employees were able to attend a conference on the benefits of regular exercise and how to cook in a healthy way. They were also offered cookery workshops and personal dietary advice. Other activities were planned, such as a presentation by the Cancer Foundation preventative measures for intestinal cancer. Finally, the annual race around our headquarters building helped raise money for two non-profit organisations: Lux Rollers and the Food Bank.
It was a full day that helped reinforce the place that healthy habits, environmental awarness and solidarity have in our company culture!
