Today, creating social ties is necessary—especially with young people. This is the idea fueling the organisation known as Parrains par Mille, or “Mentors by the thousand”, which works to match individual volunteers with children from broken or disadvantaged families.

The association proposes a social solution that is not to be confused with adoption: it’s about creating the opportunity to build a relationship between a volunteer and a young person, hour by hour, week by week, in a “safe space” that is independent from the child’s home.

As you’ll see in this week’s BlogTV, beautiful relationships are born through the efforts of Parrains par Mille, as enriching for the volunteers and their “buddies” as it is important for the childrens’ families.

Parrains par Mille is supported by the BNP Paribas Foundation’s “Coup de pouce” programme.
