France is currently losing one in three of its bee colonies every year, largely as a result of human-generated pollution (chemical fertilizers, insecticides, etc.). Working to conserve bee populations is therefore an important challenge in protecting the environment and its natural riches.

That’s why BNP Paribas Cardif decided to place a beehive on the roof of its “HEQ” head office in Nanterre, an initiative that was strongly supported by its employees.

The fact that bees play an essential role in maintaining biodiversity has been clearly demonstrated by research conducted by INRA (the French National Institute for Agricultural Research) and CNRS (the French National Center for Scientific Research), which estimates that 35% of global food production is directly dependent on these pollinators.

Installing a beehive on the roof of the building will give BNP Paribas Cardif an excellent opportunity to continue expanding its environmental policy as a socially responsible company.
