In Hong Kong, BNP Paribas Investment Partners has joined with a local charitable organization called St James Settlement to launch the “Read Write Fun”, a program aiming to develop the reading and writing skills for deprived children who may have dyslexia.
In addition to a HK$1.5 million (approx.150 000 euros) donation to run this program, an application for a matching subsidy through the Hong Kong Government sponsored Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged is underway.
The fund is expected to increase the total program budget to HK$2.5 million (approx. 245 000 euros) and its coverage to four years.
Jean Audibert, CEO of BNP Paribas Investment Partners Hong Kong, presented the donation to Josephine Lee, Assistant Chief Executive Officer of St James Settlement at a ceremony on February 2.
Apart from the financial contribution, the program offers volunteering opportunities to the employees of BNP Paribas Investment Partners Asia. These opportunities include participating in the reading and writing training sessions for the students as well as accompanying them during the scheduled reward activities.
