Recycling in office buildings is often less efficient than we’d like to think. Even though most people are aware of the importance of recycling, it can be difficult to put into place a large-scale system that works in terms of logistics—and budget.
BNL in Rome has decided to confront this issue head-on. They have just signed an agreement with AMA, the municipal entity that collects both waste and recycling in the city.
BNL would like to start applying this selective collection-model in offices across Italy, an important environmental measure that will require separate agreements with regional waste collection companies.
Leonardo Cavallari, the head of Facility Management for BNL, talks about how the initiative is playing out:

IDE: to create income opportunities for poor rural households
Project Why: to create a model of education for for children in India

we are a group of people from Local authorities in Cyprus and we are visiting Rome (30.08/2010 ) . We are interesting to explain us ( 1 hrs in a room and 2-3 hrs site visiting ) how the BNL reclying system is working so we can get some experiences . Iin our country we are in the beginning to apply this system .
