BNP Paribas Singapore teamed up once again with the Handicaps Welfare Association (HWA) for their Car Wash Marathon. This charity fund-raising event, which took place on Saturday, 8 May 2010, was a continuous 12-hour marathon car wash, conducted in three shifts, organised by HWA in an effort to improve the lives of the 1,700 members the association currently serves. The event raised a total of S$52,713.20 (30,644 €), with the sale of 673 coupons, as well as generous donations from the public and companies.
The Group rallied together 20 staff volunteers that were spread across two locations (West Coast and Dempsey Hill) to help wash the cars from in two of the shifts.
This is one of the local community outreach programmes to help enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities and integrate them into the mainstream society.
