World Environment Day is fast approaching, and BNP Paribas Fortis Belgium has decided to take action. On June 5, all employees will take part in an online, interactive information session related to the environmental commitment of BNP Paribas Fortis.

The session, which marks the beginning of the entity’s greater “Go Green” initiative, will include a questionnaire with questions about employees’ daily habits. They will then receive personalized feedback designed to help them cut down on their environmental impact in the workplace.

Started in 1972 by the United Nations, World Environment Day aims to stimulate awareness of and sensitivity to environmental issues, and to encourage interest and political action at all levels.

Each year, WED activities are centred in a different place and are focused on a current theme. This year, Rwanda has opened its doors to host the international event, based on “Many Species. One Planet. One Future.”

What will you do to play your part this Saturday? Whether it be cutting down on plastic use or organizing a neighbourhood clean up, the WED wants to hear about it. Check out their site and get some ideas as to how to contribute to the world’s biggest global celebration of positive environmental action.
