BMCI, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas in Morocco, supports Earth Day, which marks its 40th anniversary this year. It was celebrated from April 17 to 24 in Rabat, chosen as a premier city by the Earth Day Network (together with New York, Rome, Shanghai and Bombay).
Represented by the capital, Morocco as a whole was selected for its efforts on behalf of the environment and has demonstrated its commitment through the creation of a National Charter for the Environment and Sustainable Development.
A series of celebrations were held during the week-long event, primarily in Rabat, including the creation of an Ecology Zone with an area of 2800 m², the exhibition “Earth from Above” by Yann Arthus Bertrand, and concerts by national and international artists. By the end, more than 10,000 Moroccan “Acts of Green” were registered! (Global Target = 1 billion acts of green per year).
BMCI, which is very aware of the environment and sustainable development, has included the Earth Day message on its customers’ account statements, showcased Earth Day in the windows of some of its offices in Rabat and produced an Eco-Logical leaflet for its employees, identifying simple and useful steps that can be taken in the office: learning to conserve paper, to limit waste and to reduce water and energy consumption … so that everyone can help preserve our planet! All of the sustainable development actions taken by BMCI are included on the official website of Earth Day in Morocco.
