Love will hold pride of place in the Reception Hall of the Hôtel de Ville de la Mairie de Paris (Paris City Hall) from May 6 to July 31 (Update: the exhibit will be displayed until the 14th of August, 2010), with the exhibition entitled “Paris d’amour” (Paris of Love) by Gérard Uféras.
Over the course of 2 years, Gerard Uféras photographed 70 marriages and civil partnerships celebrated in Paris. His work reflects a city in which everyone is free to love, to commit and to choose, regardless of their social, cultural or religious origins. Paris’ diversity supports gender diversity and provides all Parisian lovers with an optimistic view of love.
BNP Paribas has supported Gerard Uféras’ artistic project for more than a year, as an expression of its sympathy with these values of optimism and solidarity.
An exhibition full of hope, tolerance, and love that surmounts the barriers of race and religion … well worth seeing!
