This year BNL has renewed its commitment to the prestigious Foundation of the National Academy of Saint Cecile in Rome for its 2010-2011 season. Founded in 1585, the National Academy is one of the oldest musical institutions in the world and continues to be very active on the international classical music scene.

The partnership between BNL and the Foundation dates back to 1995 and continues to evolve. Five years after its first pledge the bank wanted to increase its support, and became a founding partner in 2000.

For the 2009-2010 season, BNL has helped fund a number of specific events, including a performance of Chopin sonatas by pianist Krystian Zimerman in February, followed by a concert given by Christian Zacharias and the National Academy of Saint Cecile Orchestra on May 17th. BNL also contributes to various other activities throughout the year, from the organization and recording of concerts to musical education for young people.
