With the start of the New Year, BNP Paribas Egypt has launched the “New Year Free of Hunger” initiative. BNP Paribas Egypt chose to dedicate its budget, normally designated for end of year gifts for employees and customers, to Egyptian families in need. The allocated amount will go to feed 1,180 families, meaning close to 6,000 people in the villages of Al-Monofeya, Al-Beheira, Al-Menya, Sohag and Aswan for a full year!
This initiative is part of an ongoing partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank and their “Village Free of Hunger” Program. The program aims to eliminate hunger by first identifying families who do not have the financial means to support themselves, and then by providing a year’s worth of food for these families.
To emphasize the idea of participation, letters were sent to clients and staff wishing a Happy New Year and informing them that a certain amount of the budget has been donated on their behalf to feed needy families.
In celebration of this occasion, a press conference was organized creating awareness on BNP Paribas CSR activities with the EFB, and highlighting the Group’s active role in the community and its long term vision of social development.
The “New Year Free of Hunger” is one of numerous Egyptian Food Bank projects supported by BNP Paribas.
