The Red Cross mobilises to bring international assistance to Haiti. BNP Paribas Fortis is in full support of this operation, encouraging clients and employees to donate. BNP Paribas Fortis will be matching total employee donations up to 250,000 euros.

During this first phase, the funds received will be utilized for basic necessities such as blankets, mosquito nets, plastic tarps, kitchen equipment and equipped tool boxes. Larger relief supplies will also be sent: family tents for 6-8 individuals, medical tents and emergency medical kits for 10,000 people. With transportation included, a blanket costs 5 euros, a 5-person toiletry kit that lasts a month costs 25 euros, a family tent costs 500 euros and an array of crucial medical equipment costs 7,500 euros.
