BNL, the Italian bank of the BNP Paribas Group, has opened its first innovative solar-powered branch in Italy! The branch, in the town of Alessandria, is equipped with solar panels producing renewable energy. The panels provide enough power to meet all the needs of the branch.
Maurizio Lupo, Head of Branch Development, explains, “We decided to equip the roof of the agency by placing solar panels to make it independent in terms of production and consumption of electricity. With the solar panels, the agency does not depend on the electricity of the local network. It is self-sufficient, and the on weekends, the branch even sells the extra clean energy it produces.”
Respect for the environment is a major pillar of the Group’s social and environmental responsibility policy.
