On August 19th employees of BNP Paribas Egypt took the initiative to engage in volunteer work at the Egyptian Food Bank. The purpose of this day of charity work was to provide food for poor families and the less fortunate during the holy month of Ramadan, which started August 21st and ends September 19th. The Food Bank’s goal during this month is to distribute over a half million food packs.

The Egyptian Food Bank supplies and delivers food to orphans, elders, widows, needy families and persons incapable of work. Their strategy is set on accepting monetary and material donations as well as unused or extra foods, through collection from different entities, companies, organizations or individuals and making use of it by offering healthy meals on periodical schedules to the true needy.

With guidance from Food Bank staff, 15 BNP Paribas employees participated in assembling more than 300 “Ramadan Bags” which are equipped with food and goods, making the day a success for all parties involved.
