As part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) since 2006, BNP Paribas Assurance has commissioned a carbon footprint report for all its activities in the 40 countries in which it maintains a presence. BNP Paribas Assurance and all its branches worldwide have set themselves the ambitious target of reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by 10% over 3 years.

Each site has therefore set itself an action plan that may cover travel between home and work, business travel, energy consumption, depreciation (real estate, furniture, computer equipment), incoming materials (paper, small supplies, food), freight, air conditioning, waste, purchased services and visitor-related travel.

In this context, Cardif Netherlands is the first BNP Paribas Assurance site to lease hybrid cars for some of its directors. Hybrid technology combines an electric motor with a petrol engine, which kicks in above a certain speed (around 40 km/h). The hybrid vehicle has low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. For its car leasing arrangements, Cardif has retained the services of another Group company, Arval.
