BNP Paribas recently teamed up with the Food Bank For New York City and NYRP to establish the BNP Paribas Herb Garden. This garden will provide herbs to the Food Bank’s Community Kitchen and Food Pantry located in West Harlem. The herbs will be used to help serve the more than 1,000 meals that come out of the facility each day.

Employees will have the duty of weeding and maintaining the garden on a regular basis. A colourful mural will also be painted on the walls surrounding the garden. The Food Bank’s Community Kitchen of West Harlem is comprised of two main parts; the food pantry and the soup kitchen. The food pantry allows low-income New Yorkers to select fresh produce and packaged food items themselves in a supermarket-style setting free of charge. The full-service soup kitchen serves a variety of meals to a diverse group of New Yorkers in need — including working adults, children, homeless, seniors and people with disabilities.

Don’t miss out on the evolution of this extraordinary project in the weeks to come!
