Cetelem, a BNP Paribas subsidiary in Russia, and its employees have raised funds to help Moscow’s Number 5 Orphanage. This Orphanage is home to over 60 young kids, aged between a few weeks old up to four years old. Many of them have serious diseases and are disabled early childhood, from a very young age on. The money allocated from the state’s budget is not enough to cover the Orphanage’s expenses, depriving the children of basic things such as toys, clothes and footwear. Cetelem employees in Moscow decided to take initiative and help the children.
An action group volunteered to collect donations for the kids, managing to accumulate as much as 150 thousand rubles (3 500 Euro) in just a fortnight from Cetelem employees and management. The money was spent on pampers, clothing, shoes, and educational games and toys for the children.
There are more than 200,000 children living in orphanages all over Russia and support from the private enterprises and individual sponsors is very important for them.
