Renault and its partner in a long-term corporate car operational leasing,Arval, a BNP Paribas subsidiary, have decided to accelerate the launch of innovative solutions in the framework of the electric car project of the alliance Renault-Nissan.

The teams of Renault and Arval are working on developing new systems. Convinced that the electric vehicle is the answer to various environmental challenges of today, Arval is further expanding its partnership with Renault assisting them in their industrial project and proposing various customized solutions.
Uwe Hochgeschurtz, director of Corporate Division of Renault, said: “The features of the electric vehicle respond perfectly to the specific needs of corporations in terms of running costs and environment-friendliness. We do believe that the collaboration with Arval will allow us to reestablish the rupture between ecology and economics, that was underligned by the project Renault eco².”
A complete series of electric vehicles will be available as of 2011.

IDE: to create income opportunities for poor rural households
Project Why: to create a model of education for for children in India

I’d like to amend Uwe Hochgeschurtz’s comment: “The features of the electric vehicle respond perfectly to the specific needs of corporations in terns of running costs and environment-friendliness [in certain situations].” EV’s are not the panacea they are sometimes made out to be.
