For the second consecutive year Cetelem Russia, BNP Paribas subsidiary, supports Russian Children Music contest organized by Rotary International Charity Foundation.
The International Russian Rotary Children Music Competition was organized for the first time in 2002, and it aimes to provide a continuous support for young and gifted musicians aged between eight and thirteen who play piano, violin, viola, violoncello or a wind instrument.
Children from all over Russia, as well as from the other countries, took part in the contest which provides unique opportunities to young talents. The best European music schools and Rotary clubs in 20 countries and 68 cities worldwide have been participating in the contest for more than 6 years since its establishment.
The winners of the contest receive scholarships for the following year. Furthermore, they get a chance to be invited to play with some well-known professional orchestras not only in Russia but also in the other countries. Many of them go on tour for a first time, due to their brilliant performance at the contest.
This year’s edition of the International Russian Rotary Children Music Competition was held in the end of March and 7 most talented virtuosos from Russia and abroad (USA, Germany, Moldova, Korea) played in the Finals. The first prize went to Yaegy Park from USA, playing violin. Georgy Krizhnenko (piano) from Russia was honored the second prize, and the third prize was given to Naina Kobzareva from Russia (violin).
