Mrs Anta Diagne Diack, Deputy CEO of the Banque Internationale pour le Commerce et l’Industrie du Sénégal (BICIS), a BNP Paribas subsidiary in the Senegal, has been voted Best Female Manager 2008, by the Jury of the 5th Cauris d’Or, an annual business awards ceremony initiated by the Mouvement des Entreprises du Sénégal (MEDS).
This award was presented to Mrs Diack on May 9th, 2009 during an evening reception, chaired by the Mrs Viviane Wade, First Lady of Senegal and President of Fondation Education Santé, the Prime Minister of Senegal, Mr Souleymane Ndéné Ndiaye, and a number of other distinguished figures. The Jury was chaired by Mr Gérard Senac, CEO of Eiffage Sénégal, and was made up of thirty or so key figures.
It was a difficult decision as all nominees were worthy candidates, but the main selection criteria focused on career achievements and individual performance.
Mrs Diack expressed her gratitude on receiving this honour:
“This award is symbolic. It is specifically intended to recognise the achievements of a female manager and, in particular, it rewards and encourages her to pursue her efforts in both her professional and personal life. Above and beyond the personal recognition, I am especially delighted about the positive impact that this may have on BICIS and BNP Paribas Group, who gave me the opportunity to succeed in such a challenge”.
