Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB), BNP Paribas’ strategic partner in Turkey, received 1500 guests for TEB Innovation Summit TEB, on Monday, April 14th at the Maslak TIM Center in Istanbul. The Summit opened with a concert of the TEB Band.

The band is composed of girls participating in TEB’s social responsibility program, called “Educated Girls”.

“TEB’s Educated Girls” is a project that was started 2 years ago, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the bank. Its goal was to cover the yearly education expenses of 800 little girls mostly in the eastern part of Turkey, where the social and economic conditions are unfortunately desperate.

The initial aim of the project was to provide education to 800 girls, however, in a short span of time the initial aim was achieved. Thanks to immense contribution by TEB employees we were able to overcome that primary target in 6 months.

Project generated 1.6 million USD worth resources which provided 1.250 girls with four years of education. This was achieved with the joint efforts of TEB employees and business partners, who supported 525 girls, TEB itself, who supported 525 girls, and BNP Paribas, who provided education for 200 girls.

Today, the project is growing in size and ambition. The aim of the project is to provide equal educational opportunities throughout high school for the girls in order to help them become a modern person who is capable of analysing and synthesising, open for universal values, an independent thinker, and a valuable asset for her society.
