BNP Paribas USA is teaming up with the Department of Education, the Fund for Public Schools and The Urban Assembly School of Applied Math and Science to sponsor the Pi5NY Math Tournament: a city-wide, fun-spirited competition designed to excite and inspire New York City middle school students to excel at Math.

The event will be held on May, 9, 2009 in the Bronx. 600 students between 11 and 14 years old will compete against eachother to win the final contest.

Students already started to train for the tournament during a series of practice sessions held by teachers and BNP Paribas volunteers who are helping them enhance their math skills.
