For the seventh consecutive year the BNP Paribas Foundation has extended the “Helping hand“ program (“Coup de pouce”) to employee charity initiatives. Started in 2003 the Coup de Pouce program was created to support non-profit organizations in which employees are involved as volunteers.
Since the program’s launch 450,000 euros have been granted to over 200 organizations and projects with the amounts of individual grants varying from 400 to 4,000 euros. The organizations supported by this program work in extremely varied fields including education, international cooperation, disabilities and the struggle for equality. Similar initiatives have been started in many of the Group’s establishments. Participants in the program have grown to include Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Belgium and future “Helping hand” developments are in the works in Greece, Senegal, Morocco and certain Eastern European countries.

IDE: to create income opportunities for poor rural households
Project Why: to create a model of education for for children in India

Although, I’m not a BNP employee, I’ve had numerous chances to work with this community and to witness it’s solidarity. It’s no surprise that they can ‘lend a helping hand’ to so many.
I’m also involved Habitat For Humanity, a project that enables financially modest families to own their own home.
