From 20 to 27 September 2008, the Institute Pasteur launched the second Pasteurdon, a large-scale campaign for donations across the length and breadth of France. For 27 years, the BNP Paribas Foundation has been giving generous support to several research teams at the Institute as well as to its Teaching Centre.

The Group took part in the Pasteurdon by promoting the campaign on its internet site www.bnpparibas.net and by distributing brochures appealing for donations to its customers in its Paris branches. The aim was to encourage public support for research related to Pasteur’s scientific work: the search for vaccines against malaria, chronic Hepatitis B and AIDS, as well as research into treatment for Parkinson’s disease. The donations are funnelled directly to the research teams themselves.
