For the last 10 years, the BNP Paribas Foundation has been supporting AFEV (Student Foundation Association for the City, or “Association de la Fondation Etudiante pour la Ville”).

On 24 September, the Association launched the first “Mobilising against under achievement in schools” Day. During the event, several debates were held and several films shown as part of an attempt to combat under achievement at school and to propose specific solutions to the problem.
These social initiatives are intended to broaden access to knowledge and culture for the greatest number.

AFEV’s objective is to offer educational support, given by student volunteers, for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The interventions of the students help to narrow the gap between different social and geographical groups.
In addition, AFEV organises events facilitating information giving, as well as discussion and debate, and which are intended for the various participants involved in its educational project.
