Already sponsored by the BNP Paribas Foundation for the past three years, “Le Printemps de la Danse” festival (The Dance Festival taking place in Angoulême, France) took place on 26, 27 and 28 of June 2008 in the courtyard of the medieval castle of Villebois-Lavalette, in Angoulême.

The aim of the founder of the project, Jacques Patarozzi, a teacher and choreographer, was to use the festival to communicate the world of contemporary dance to a wider audience. In order to better display the different varieties of dance, the choreographers make use of short scenes and powerful productions.

Since the very beginnings of the Festival ten years ago, Jacques Patarozzi has shown particular interest in helping young choreographers to create and show their works, as well as in helping a new audience to appreciate the world of contemporary dance.
