Ukrisibbank, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas in the Ukraine, has initiated a programme entitled the “Young Bankers’ Academy”, to familiarise children between the ages of 6 and 8 with the world of banking.

In two-hour sessions, children from primary schools in Kiev attended an amusing presentation on the history of money, from barter to the modern credit card. They also met staff who talked to them about their jobs, with the aim of “demystifying” the world of banking.

The project was then extended to three other towns in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the branch in Kiev is planning a new version suitable for older pupils and adults.
