From 18 March to 4 April 2008, the Train for Employment and Equal Opportunity visited every corner of France with BNP Paribas and 9 other companies as partners. United in their commitment to openness, diversity and equality of opportunity, 22,000 candidates, selected by the Agence nationale pour l’emploi (the French national employment bureau) and the Conseil National des Missions Locales, were hosted at this event.
More than 15,000 jobs, work placements and “alternance” training contracts (where trainees receive practical vocational experience combined with periods of theoretical training) were on offer, for every educational level, some requiring experience and others not. 1,400 were on offer by BNP Paribas.
This represented a notable opportunity for the sponsoring companies to fight against discrimination in the field of employment and to act positively for achieving diversity in France.
