Every year, the BNP Paribas Foundation, a faithful sponsor of the Foundation for Medical Research for the past 15 years, provides support for between 5 and 7 researchers, each chosen for the innovative nature of his or her research.

BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking is committed to this sponsorship, and in 2008 is taking an active part in the Programme for Biomedical Excellence, the aim of which is to provide a range of opportunities for financial support for medical and biological research. This programme makes an active contribution to training young researchers, and its objective is to support their work in all the relevant research fields (cancers, infectious diseases, degenerative neuronal illnesses…). As a result, about fifty young researchers will be able to work for a whole year as members of some of the most widely recognised international research teams in the world.
